The Port of Dover is one of Europe's largest passenger ports and links Britain to mainland Europe for 14 million travellers a year, with the main destination being Calais. There are numerous car parking options in the area.
The Port of Dover itself runs a car park for both short and long stays and holds a national "Secure Car Park" status. Regular security patrols are in operation in the area. The car park holds a "Park Mark" award which gives users confidence that their car will remain safe. Pre booking your parking space is strongly advised, especially in the peak summer months of July, August and September.
Free parking is available at the front of the travel centre for dropping off passengers. This is restricted to 15 minutes stopping time. For long term parking, charges are around £12 for a day and then £6 therafter.
Alternatively, an unofficial car park can work out cheaper for your stay. Relyon offer such a service. The car park is covered by CCTV, is well lit at night, is fully fenced and patrolled by security guards 24/7. The car park is situated further from the port than the official parking, but a free shuttle bus is provided to transfer passengers to the port terminals.
Disabled parking and parking for vans and trailers is provided. Parking at relyon works out at around £4 per day.
